Day 113 Flagstaff, AZ

Leaving Albuquerque, the weather wasn’t bad, we had been expecting rain, it was cool and we had our chaps on.  At one point Minnie was getting hot so we pulled off onto the ramp so she could take a layer of clothing off, when we saw this couple coming onto the interstate in an old car.  Minnie was able to get a couple of pictures of them.  We did get a little rain at Holbrook, AZ, as we were stopped under the canopy  at the gas station. As we were putting on rain gear it started to rain.  We timed it right this time. One of the stops I wanted to make was Winslow, AZ.  I wanted to get our picture taken standing on the corner in Winslow, AZ, which we did do.  They really do have that corner fixed up nice, it’s not at all like I remember it from years ago.  We enjoyed our stop there. We made it to Flagstaff without getting any more rain. We stopped at Don and Karen Wilson’s house.  I worked with Don years ago and we have stayed in touch.  Minnie and I and a few other friends helped them move into the house they have 36 years ago.  They were great hosts to us.  Karen has the house all decorated for fall.  They have a lot of stuff decorating their house, it’s very well done.  They entertain a lot and it shows, because they are good at it.  We sat by a fire after having gone out for Mexican food.  The place that they have their fire is in a cast iron chimney in a little area they setup as a memorial to one of their friends.
