2017 Summer Second Ride, Day 65, Sep 12, Tue

Planned route

Sedro Woolley, WA * Port Angeles, WA

Planned Stops

One planned stop at a Harley Davidson Dealership in Lynnwood, WA for Minnie’s poker chip.

Ride Conditions

Had our cold weather gear on to start. We striped some of it off at the Emerald City HD. But we stopped to put it back on as we headed up to Port Angeles, WA.

We were on the Interstate for a while today. Problems with the GPS took us to the wrong dealership. That put us in City traffic and that’s not what we wanted. So, to get us back on track we took the I-5 to Olympia, WA. There we caught the 101 North. This is the start of our trip down part the West coast on highway 101. We are just interested in going to Eugene, CA, to get Minnie’s poker chip for California. We will head east from there to Reno, NV.

It Got Cold

Fueled up outside Olympia and from that point on the air started turning cold. We stopped so Minnie could put her heated liner on and I added my sweatshirt to my jacket. We are riding around the Olympic National Park. I didn’t realize that the mountains here are so big.

The Ride

The ride was a nice ride, except where we were on the Interstate 5 and when we were in city traffic.

Once we got on the 101 N. we rode along the water’s edge or close to it for a while. Weather is cold in this part of the state, I guess because of all the water.

We stopped for the Night

We stopped for the night at Days Inn in Port Angeles, WA. The WiFi service here is not good. My computer keeps dropping connection, the internet at this motel was useless. Don’t know what their problems was.

Route and mileage

Today’s Miles 262, Trip Mileage Totals 10,784, Daily Average 165

Today’s Map

Theses are pictures at the Harley Dealership and leaving the dealership and heading to Olympia. The truck that is wrecked is in North bound traffic side of the freeway. Traffic was backed up for miles.

Pics here are after fueling up and heading to Port Angeles.
